Privacy policy
This policy explains what information Nova collects, why, and what we do with it. The short version: your recordings stay on your PC unless you choose to share them.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Your email address
When you sign up for an early access key, we collect your email address and store it together with the license key we issue. This lets us send you the same key again if you ask for it. We don't use it for marketing unless you agree to that separately.
1.2 Technical information
When you request a key, our server briefly uses your IP address to prevent abuse, such as too many keys from one network. This is kept for about an hour. When Nova checks for updates, it connects to GitHub, which can see your IP address like any website. Our website host may also record standard visit data, such as browser type and pages visited.
2. Your Recordings
Your recordings, edits and projects are saved only on your PC. Nova doesn't upload them anywhere unless you use Share link. When you do, that video is uploaded to our server and anyone with the link can watch it. Shared videos are deleted automatically after 7 days. Nova also keeps a small diagnostics log on your PC to help fix problems. It contains no recordings and is never sent automatically.
3. Sharing Your Information
We don't sell your information. We use a few trusted providers to run Nova: Cloudflare stores license records and shared videos, GitHub hosts app downloads and updates, and Framer hosts this website. They only process data to provide these services.
4. Cookies
This website may use cookies set by our website host for basic features and visit statistics. The Nova app itself doesn't use cookies or tracking. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
5. Your Choices
You can ask us to show you or delete your email and license record at any time. You can delete any recording in Nova yourself, and shared videos expire on their own after 7 days.
6. Security
Share links use long random addresses that are hard to guess, and license records are stored on Cloudflare's secure infrastructure. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. Children's Privacy
Nova isn't intended for children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy as Nova changes, for example when paid licenses become available. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
